Every encounter: a new adventure!
By Here the Outing offers teenagers and pre-teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) an environment structured through community activities.
The goal of this program is to enable Francophone participants to develop their autonomy and social skills such as building their abilities to adapt to a new environment and forging friendships.
The program is offered from September to June, 2 Sunday afternoons per month.
During the meetings, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in the Ottawa area. The landing point, confirmed monthly, will alternate between the site of the activity and an Otrain/OCtranspo station.
The choice of activities, based on the mission of the programme and the group as a whole, ensures many discoveries throughout the life of the program!
Regular communication will be maintained between the coordinator and the participant and his or her family.
The program is limited to 10 participants who must:
- Being a pre-teen or a teenager
- Being able to respond and follow instructions
- Operating in a group environment without the direct support of an accompanist
- Operate in a group, and with a ratio of 1 to 3
